Xhorse Introduces Key Cloning for BMW G/U Series with BDC3 and BCP Systems

Xhorse has launched a significant firmware update that enables key cloning for BMW G/U chassis vehicles equipped with BDC03 and BCP systems. This upgrade broadens user capabilities in programming and duplicating BMW keys efficiently.

License and Activation

The BDC3 key cloning feature is automatically accessible to all users with an active BMW G BDC2 license. No additional adapters, fees, or activation steps are required.
Users without a BDC2 license can activate a new BMW G license, which includes both BDC2 and BDC3 functionalities.

Key Compatibility

Supported key types consist of VVDI dedicated keys (to be available soon) and original OEM keys.
The cloning process employs Xhorse's free calculation service, ensuring no point deductions are applied.

Important Restrictions

Only original keys marked as Hungary are suitable for cloning.
Keys labeled Mexico are permanently locked and cannot be processed.

Supported Hardware and Workflow

Compatible devices include:

• Xhorse VVDI Key Tool PlusPad (fully prepared)
• Xhorse VVDI2 (requires external BDC3 key data reading through VVDI Prog or Multi-Prog)
• Xhorse Key Tool MIDI (needs external BDC3 key data reading via VVDI Prog or Multi-Prog)

Current Development Status

• Key Tool Plus BDC3 function is completely operational
• VVDI Prog and Multi Prog BDC3 functions are still in the testing phase
• Testing can be done using function 19 in VVDI Prog or function 199 in Multi Prog

Operation Process

Extract original key data with VVDI Prog or Multi Prog, then import the data into VVDI2, Key Tool Plus, or Key Tool MIDI to finalize key programming. The software provides detailed pinout diagrams for BMW BDC3 keys.

License Verification

• VVDI2: An authorization prompt appears when accessing BDC2/BDC3 functions

• Key Tool Plus/Key Tool MIDI: Check directly in the authorization list

Note: Existing BDC2 authorization automatically includes BDC3 functionality.
