Keydiy has officially released a major upgrade for its KD-X4 and KD-MAX tools, adding support for VAG 5C/5D key programming. This enhancement became available on January 11, 2026.
Enhanced Capabilities and Supported Systems
The latest update expands the functionality of Keydiy tools, covering a wider range of vehicle systems and key types.
- Brand Coverage: BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, and Skoda.
- 5C System: Works with both ZB smart keys and original factory keys.
- 5D System: Compatible exclusively with original keys. Models with UWB high-specification require corresponding high-spec keys.
- Pre-owned Original Keys: Both 5C and 5D systems support the use of second-hand original keys.
- BMW Key Cloning: Offers full cloning for BMW BDC2, BDC3, LCD, and U-Chassis BCP encrypted keys.
- Permanent Key Addition: After activating the MQB and BMW-G functions, adding keys is free indefinitely.
- Vehicle Model Support: Compatible with models produced up to the year 2026.
Important Operational Notes
Performing VAG 5C/5D key programming does not require the KD-MP tool.
Using the KD-X4: You can read data directly from an original key and program new keys.
Using the KD-MAX: Read the key data with the KD-MAX device, then program the keys through the KD-MATE interface.
Requirements and Key Specifications
For MQB49 5C/5D systems, activation of the MQB license is necessary, which is shared with the MQB48 platform.
Adding keys to these systems does not consume any tool points.
The 5C platform accepts Keydiy ZB smart keys or original keys.
The 5D platform is designed to work only with original factory keys.
Both 5C and 5D systems support the integration of used original keys.
BMW G Series Encrypted Keys (BDC2/BDC3)
To access this feature, users must first activate the BMW G function license.
Generating a KD FGB remote incurs no point cost.
Creating an original G-series key uses 180 points from the tool's account.
Additional Development Information
Specialized adapter boards for VAG 5C/5D and BMW encrypted key cloning are under development and will be released in the near future.
Current Solution: Utilize a wire soldering technique with a modified Keydiy adapter. Please consult the provided wiring diagram for correct connections.
Step-by-Step Guide for Adding VAG 5C/5D Keys
- Read the data from an existing original key to generate a unique service code.
- Use this service code to produce a dealer key.
- Program the new key into the vehicle by entering the generated service code.
Alternative Method: Extract immobilizer (IMMO) data from a functioning key, then read the synchronization data.
If the key contains available CS data, the synchronization information can be obtained directly without additional steps.
