How to use the OBDSTAR VW4-AKL cable to read IMMO data?

How to use OBDSTAR VW4-AKL cable to read IMMO data for VW IV instrument clusters (NEC+24C32 and NEC+24C64)?

Use OBDSTAR VW4-AKL cable with OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus on a test bench. No IC removal required! No PCB soldering needed even when all keys are lost. Also compatible with X300 Pro4 and X300 Classic G3.

Required tools:

OBDSTAR VW4-AKL cable and compatible software (e.g., OBDSTAR X300 DP or similar). The VW4-AKL cable consists of a DC power connector, probe, power switch, and instrument cluster connector.

With this special cable, there's no need to remove ICs, solder PCBs, or create server data. We can read IMMO data directly on the test bench.

Ensure connection is established and perform the following function.

1. Read EEPROM and IMMO data for NEC+24C32 cluster

Select the latest version, then choose [SKODA]-[4 Generation CAN Meter]-[VDO NEC+24C32] in sequence

First read EEPROM to backup data.

Click [Guide] to view appearance and locate probe point

Zoom partial image to find exact point

Power off, place probe on point, then power on

Wait 6-7 seconds until instrument cluster beeps, then press [Enter] to confirm

EEPROM data backup successful

Next, read IMMO data

Repeat same steps:

Power off, place probe on point, power on, wait for beep, then remove probe

IMMO data read successfully

2. Read data from NEC+24C64 cluster

Press [Esc] and reconnect cable. Then reselect appropriate menu according to cluster type.

Follow same method as for NEC+24C32 cluster to read EEPROM and IMMO data

Wait briefly for process completion.
